Subscript a bdVector

DESCRIPTION:

Extract or replace values from a bdVector object.

This function requires the bigdata library section to be loaded.

USAGE:

x[i]
x[i] <- value

REQUIRED ARGUMENTS:

x
an object inheriting from class "bdVector".

OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS:

i
subscript expression used to identify the elements to extract or replace. The expression may be empty, which corresponds to all possible subscripts and therefore extracts/replaces the entire object (or the entire dimension of the object). The expression may also be logical, numeric (integer), or character, or the big data counterparts.
drop
logical flag indicating whether the result is coerced to an ordinary vector. By default, the result is an ordinary vector if it is length 0 or 1, and remains a bdVector if the result is longer. Specifying drop=T causes the result to always be coerced; specifying drop=F prevents coercion.
value
replacement value for the relevant piece of the bdVector.

DETAILS:

Subscripting a bdVector is generally similar to subscripting a vector, with two exceptions:
(1) subscripts ( i) may be big data vectors,
(2) if the bdVector have attributes, the attributes are not discarded when subscripting. This is subject to change.
