getwd()
setwd(dir)
getwd
returns
the directory that S-PLUS is running in. Relative (non-absolute)
file names given to input and output functions like
importData
and
cat
are looked for relative to this directory.
setwd
returns nothing useful, but has
the side effect of changing the current working directory to
dir
.
Changing the working directory should not be done if you are using any relative (non-absolute) file names.
