Aerothermal Turbulence Data
DESCRIPTION:
This data is collected by a hot wire probe extended from an
aircraft flying at a constant altitude at a constant speed.
The current in the wire is proportional to temperature, so
the series of measurements is indirecetly related to temperature. The
analog voltage data was sampled at 12 KHz and fed through a highpass
fourth order Butterworth filter with a cutoff frequency around 0.001
Hz to eliminate the DC bias. The aero dataset is thus the AC voltage
(proportional to temperature) with a spatial resolution of
approximately 2 cm.
