This function checks a specified portion of the search list for items
that appear more than once.
USAGE:
conflicts(where, detail=FALSE, meta=0)
OPTIONAL ARGUMENTS:
where
which elements of the search list should be included in the search.
By default, the entire search list is used.
detail
should the details of the conflicts be returned. (See below.)
meta
if supplied, for example, as
"methods" or
"help", the information
returned relates to conflicts in the
corresponding meta-data databases instead of the ordinary databases.
VALUE:
By default, a character vector of the names of any objects appearing
more than once in the databases searched for conflicts.
If
detail is
TRUE, returns a list, with one element for each
of the relevant databases. Each element of the list gives the names of objects
in the corresponding database that are in conflict with one or more
of the other databases. See the example below for getting the short
form from the detailed.
In examining objects,
conflicts ignores some special objects likely
to occur on any database (for example,
".Last.value"). Also, when reporting
the detailed version, databases with no conflicts are ignored.
